Trains'n Planes (But no boats!!)
19th May 2006

A gallery with trains and a plane-the first visit to Britain by the A380 Airbus, flying low over Broughton and Hawarden Airfield on its way to Heathrow, as a tribute to the Aerospace workers who have manufactured the wings here. I hoped for a picture of the plane and a train in the same shot, but this was not to be- darn it!

The Airbus glides towards Hawarden Airfield, with undercarriage lowered. An impressive sight.

Shortly before the Airbus arrived, the 0950 Holyhead-Euston Voyager sped past, so that target was out!

66506 Crewe Regeneration passes the airfield perimiter with empty ballast wagons for Penmaenmawr. A shame it wasn't late-a day I actually hoped for delays!

Banking away and onwards to Heathrow. A VERY quiet aircraft (Bigger fan blades in the Rolls Royce Engines, I believe).
