I rarely use flash, but there was no problem here. Another grab shot with dozens of other people milling round the platform. An example of when you cannot use a tripod (unfortunately).

The footplate lookks like a furnace! The only place to be on a freezing day! Tangmere waits at Chester to depart for Paddington. The picture would have looked better with the man's face visible!

Steam v Diesel! 47760 couples up to 47245, just behind Tangmere. The two 47s then departed back to Carnforth.

Tangmere poses for photos. The fog and mist lingered all day as did the cold. The warmest place would have been on the footplate!!
